Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has appointed Wendy Law as head of casualty underwriting for Asia, based in Hong Kong.

Law, who is responsible for leading the firm’s casualty business across the region, joined Generali from Starr Insurance Companies, where she was head of liability. She has over a decade of experience in corporate and commercial insurance business, as well as the Lloyd’s market. She is familiar with multiple markets in Asia, including mainland China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Southeast Asia. Law began her underwriting career at Catlin before joining Tokio Marine Kiln, where her remit was expanded to include managerial responsibilities and mentoring junior underwriters in different offices.

“We are very excited to announce the appointment of Wendy Law as head of casualty within our underwriting business,” said Axel Roesner, head of Generali GC&C Asia. “With a strong track record and technical background in liabilities reinsurance business, we are confident that Wendy is well-positioned to take this key part of our business forward, continuing to strengthen GC&C’s capabilities and position across the Asia region.”

“I am thrilled to be joining the Generali Global Corporate & Commercial team and support all the colleagues to continue speaking the language of our clients and providing them with best-in-class solutions and underwriting expertise,” Law said.
