Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has appointed Kelvin Chan as head of marine underwriting in Asia.

He succeeds Alvin Chan, who recently retired from the company. In his new role, Kelvin is responsible for leading the marine business across the regional market, and reports directly to Axel Roesner, head of GC&C Asia, Generali said in a statement.

With over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Kelvin joined Generali in 2006, before transferring to its Global Corporate & Commercial division as marine senior manager in 2013. Prior to joining Generali, he was marine senior manager at AIG. He holds a diploma from the Australian Insurance Institute (AII).

“I am delighted to announce the promotion of Kelvin Chan,” said Roesner. “This appointment surely reflects our strength and the unique skills we can boast within our regional team. I am firmly convinced that we are well equipped with a strong underwriting team, and we will continue to drive underwriting excellence providing best-in-class insurance solutions to our corporate customers.”
