Global risk and reinsurance specialist Guy Carpenter & Company has named Bengt Johnsen as President and Head of the South East Asia and Korea (SEAK) region, effective January 18, 2019.

Johnsen will be based in Singapore and report to Tony Gallagher, CEO for Asia-Pacific. He succeeds Richard Jones, who was promoted to Asia-Pacific chairman in August 2017.

In his new role, Johnsen will oversee Guy Carpenter’s business activities in the SEAK region, and will be responsible for further development of the company’s local capabilities to help its clients achieve profitable growth.

“Bengt is an ideal choice to lead Guy Carpenter forward in the SEAK region,” Gallagher commented on the appointment. “He brings decades of experience building highly successful client-relationships, extensive industry expertise and impressive local market knowledge to Guy Carpenter. I have confidence that Bengt will further enhance and grow our business in the region.”
