MS&AD Insurance Group was chosen for the 2018 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the second consecutive year.

The GEI provides investors with a decision-making tool by evaluating a company’s policies regarding workplace gender equality, gender-conscious product offerings, and external engagement. In 2018, the index’s scope was expanded to 24 countries including Japan, and now recognises 104 companies (seven of which are based in Japan) as excellent in gender-related issues.

The insurer was recognised for its promotion of diversity, information disclosure related to the appointment of female employees to management positions, its personnel system that responds to diverse lifestyles, such as flexi-time and teleworking arrangements, and female-friendly products and services.

“The MS&AD Insurance Group will continue to create an environment where every employee can work energetically and to contribute to the development of a better society that respects diverse values,” the company said in a press statement.
