Howden Re has announced the appointment of Kelly Hatch (pictured above) as director of international facultative reinsurance.
Hatch, an experienced property reinsurance broker, brings extensive expertise in Asia Pacific (APAC) property placements to his new role. Based in London, Hatch will focus on providing reinsurance solutions to clients in the APAC region and contribute to the growth of Howden Re International’s property placement operations.

Hatch joins Howden Re following a 26-year tenure at Aon, where he most recently served as executive director. His career spans nearly three decades of working with complex property portfolios and delivering tailored reinsurance solutions.
Luigi Boglione, head of international facultative and joint ventures at Howden Re, said that the APAC region offers significant opportunities for innovation in reinsurance.
“Kelly has a proven track record of navigating complex property portfolios while delivering exceptional service standards. Kelly will be collaborating closely with Howden colleagues in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and across APAC as part of Howden Re International’s continued expansion. I am delighted to welcome him to the team,” Boglione said.
Hatch will report to Akshay Reddy, head of facultative broking for Europe and Pacific at Howden Re International. His appointment aligns with Howden Re’s strategy to strengthen its global presence and expand its offerings to clients across key markets.
Earlier this month, the reinsurance specialist also announced that Basel-based reinsurance broker Haakon AG will now operate under the name Howden Re Switzerland, marking the final step in its integration into the Howden brand.

Howden Re Switzerland will maintain its offices in Basel and Zurich to ensure close proximity to Swiss clients. The firm’s operations in Asia will continue to be supported by its Malaysia office, along with additional expertise provided by the team in Singapore.
