Aviva Investors has appointed Tom Clapham as head of institutional sales in Asia, effective July 04.

Based in Singapore, Clapham will be in charge of driving Aviva Investors’ growth in the region, through building new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with institutional investors in Asia. These include insurers, sovereign wealth funds, and government pension funds.

Prior to joining Aviva, Clapham worked for AXA Investment Managers, where he was head of sovereign wealth funds & central banks (Asia), institutional sales, as well as head of consultant relations. He has also held senior roles with Macquarie Bank, Deutsche Bank, and Mercer Investment Consulting.

“[Clapham] has an outstanding track record and an in-depth understanding of institutional needs across the region, having worked with some of the largest and most sophisticated investors in Asia,” said Scott Callander, head of client solutions, Asia-Pacific and Middle East, at Aviva Investors.

“Tom’s appointment also comes at a great time – he is a fantastic addition for us as we continue to strengthen our team and expand our outcome-oriented investment solutions for Asian investors.”
