Lloyd’s insurer Novae Group has promoted cyber division head Dan Trueman to the role of chief innovation officer.

Trueman, who is keeping his current post, will report directly to Novae chief underwriting officer Rob Forster.

As he commented on his promotion, Trueman noted that the company is enjoying a “strong” position in the “rapidly evolving” cyber market.

“Dan, in his new role, will continue to raise our profile in the cyber market and we look forward to working with him and his team to grow this class,” Forster said of Trueman.

According to the specialist insurer, Trueman’s appointment to a new position follows the decision to create a specific cyber sub-division within the casualty unit to take full advantage of opportunities in this class of business.

“Novae has emerged as a leading player in the global cyber market and establishing a cyber sub-division will afford us the speed, flexibility and innovation needed to compete in this market,” Forster said.
