Texas insurance companies processed half a million claims last year and paid $4 billion to policy holders, but they are glad to know they had fewer disgruntled customers last year.

The number of lawsuits against carriers went down in 2016, according to Mark Hanna of the Insurance Council of Texas.

Hanna explained in a KTSA online report that insurance companies have kept complaints at bay because they are “doing their jobs” and processing claims in a timely manner.

The large volume of claims last year was mainly due to the hail damage in San Antonio.
