AXA Partners, the global insurer’s digital partnership arm, is cooperating with messaging and e-commerce firm WeChat to create a mini program to offer travel insurance services in China.

The ‘AXA Go’ mini program, which is managed by AXA Tianping P&C Insurance, is fully integrated into the WeChat Go ecosystem and offers travel insurance and one-stop shop extended services to Chinese travellers.

According to a statement from AXA, the mini program will provide Chinese tourists with an optimized customer journey and provide several services to consumers, such as planning and buying relevant insurance coverage through WeChat Pay before departure. During travel, AXA Go will provide one-click, 24/7, global emergency access to AXA Assistance’s services such as hospital admission, and repatriation, as well as access to AXA customer service to benefit from useful information about the destination, including traveller safety alerts.

After their trip, users can file paperless end-to-end claims as well as earn points in the AXA Go membership programme.

“We are proud to provide Chinese travellers with exclusive on-demand access to travel insurance, assistance and other key travel services, all through the convenience of the AXA Go mini program on WeChat,” said Jérôme Itty, CEO of AXA Partners Asia. “The unique and innovative AXA Go mini program, fully aligned with AXA’s payer-to-partner strategy, will help WeChat to enrich their customers’ experience.”
