Global (re)insurance provider AXA XL has announced the appointment of Sylvie Gleises as regional CEO for Asia, effective March 24.

The leadership transition sees Gleises taking over from Gilles Fromageot, who will transition to become CEO of AXA Morocco and CIMA.

Gleises will continue to serve as CEO of AXA XL Singapore while taking on the broader regional responsibilities. Since moving to Singapore in 2021, she has been credited with "strengthening AXA XL's market presence in a highly competitive environment."

"I am confident that under her leadership, we will further strengthen our position as a trusted partner, delivering tailored solutions that support our clients and brokers across the region," said Xavier Veyry, regional CEO for APAC and Europe.

Gleises’ career with AXA Group spans nearly two decades, during which she has held several leadership positions including CEO of Continental Europe, global head of distribution and marketing at AXA Art, and head of revenue synergies at AXA XL.

Prior to her current role, Gleises held various senior positions in France, expanding her extensive experience within the AXA Group. Her professional background is complemented by strong academic credentials, including a degree from ESCP French business school and a master's from the London School of Economics.

Beyond her corporate role, Gleises is actively involved in business leadership. She serves as president of the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and sits on the global advisory board of TEFAF.
