China Life Insurance Company Ltd has appointed Su Hengxuan as president and executive director, succeeding Lin Dairen, who is retiring.
Prior to the appointment, Su was vice president of China Life Insurance (Group) as well as a non-executive director of the company. He has served in various roles in the group since 2000, including as general manager of the individual insurance department.
Su is a senior economist with over 35 years of experience in the operation and management of life insurance business and holds a doctorate degree from the University of Science and Technology of China. He is a member of the Political Consultative Conference of Xicheng District in Beijing, a member of the Chinese Expert Committee of the Financial Planning Standards Board, and the executive director of the Council of the China Centre for Insurance and Social Security Research (CCISSR) of Peking University.
The appointment is subject to approval by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
