Chubb has announced the appointment of Brian Church as executive vice president and head of international property for the company’s overseas general business. Church will assume the role on January 01. Church succeeds Jarrod Hill, who has been appointed Chubb’s country president of Australia and New Zealand.

In his new role, Church will be responsible for Chubb’s retail commercial property insurance business throughout Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He will relocate from New York to London for the position, and will report to David Furby, division president of commercial property and casualty at Chubb Overseas General.

Church has more than 17 years of industry experience. He joined Chubb in 2005 as a property underwriter, and has since held various underwriting and management roles across both domestic and multinational property business. His current role, which he assumed in 2012, is as head of major accounts property. Prior to joining Chubb, Church worked as an underwriter at Zurich and AIG.

“(Church) brings extensive experience and property expertise, which will prove invaluable in the future development of our business internationally,” Furby said.
