Lockton has spent 2026 hiring specialists across Asia. Its latest appointment is aimed at making the business behind them scale.
The broker has appointed Fen Ngai to the newly created role of vice president, regional operations – Asia, effective November 2. Reporting to Philip Corrigan, regional chief operating officer – Asia, Ngai will lead process reviews and transformation initiatives across Lockton’s broking and shared service functions in the region, with a focus on operational efficiency and ways of working.
“As we continue to expand, it is important that we evolve our operations alongside the business,” Corrigan said.
Ngai joins from Aon, where she was regional project manager in the project management office, leading operational, technology, regulatory and transformation programmes across Asia. Her work included target operating model initiatives, shared operations programmes, business integration projects and process improvement. She has more than 15 years of experience in transformation and operating model design across insurance and financial services.
The appointment follows a year of senior hiring at Lockton across Asia.
Almost all of those roles were client-facing, covering advisory, placement, growth and specialty lines. When IB Asia reviewed the build in July, it noted that the open question was whether the new regional platform would generate enough premium volume and client relationships to justify the investment. Ngai’s role addresses the other side of that question: whether the operations underneath can keep pace.
Group growth gives the build-out room. Lockton reported US$4.5 billion in revenue, its sixth straight year of double-digit growth.
For rival brokers, the hire suggests Lockton is preparing its operations for the business it expects to win. It is also an operations hire taken from Aon.
