MSIG Insurance Hong Kong has won a gold award in the ‘Best App - Insurance Services’ category at the Mob-Ex Awards 2019. The trophy (pictured) was awarded at a gala dinner and awards ceremony on March 27.

The accolade recognised the insurer’s MSIG Mobile app, which allows users to purchase insurance on the go, manage their policies, and access exclusive offers. It also features an e-wallet for loyalty points gained from paying premiums. It is integrated with Apple Pay and Google Pay to accommodate smooth payment.

Since 2012, the Mob-Ex Awards aim to recognise the region’s top mobile marketers and their excellence in mobile platforms across several professional industries. Within the insurance services field, companies are judged for app designs that embody their brand proposition, increase subscriptions and support customer engagement, MSIG said. The judges also take into account the quality of entries’ content, as well as user-friendliness.

“We are very proud to receive this award, which showcases part of MSIG’s vision for the future of insurance,” said Philip Kent, CEO of MSIG Insurance Hong Kong. “Customers are looking for greater flexibility and choice in how they interact with their insurance company. This app is one way we can respond to that challenge and we have other initiatives that we will be rolling out soon.

“The number of downloads of the MSIG Mobile App has exceeded our expectations and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many customers particularly commenting on the app’s user-friendly design and unique features,” he added.
