Prudential Corporation Asia (PCA) has appointed Raghu Hariharan as its chief financial officer (CFO) and the newest member of its executive leadership team. He will succeed Adrian O’Connor, who will leave the company.

Hariharan is currently the group director of strategy and capital markets at PCA’s UK-based parent company, Prudential plc. He joined the company in 2012 as director of investor relations.

In his new role, he will be in charge of finance, actuarial, capital markets, strategy, and investor relations functions across various markets in Asia. These areas are vital in advancing PCA’s ambitious business plans in the region.

A veteran of over 20 years in financial services such as re/insurance, investment, and consumer banking, Hariharan has worked in several markets in Asia, the US, and the UK. Prior to joining Prudential, he was managing director for the global insurance sector equity research programme of Citibank. He has also worked for General Electric, and Fox-Pitt Kelton, a boutique investment bank.
