Conduit names Nick Pritchard interim CUO amid leadership reshuffle

Conduit Holdings, the Bermuda-based reinsurance group, has appointed Nick Pritchard (pictured above) as interim chief underwriting officer, effective immediately.

The appointment comes as Gregory Roberts steps down from the role to return to the UK for personal reasons.

Pritchard joined Conduit in September 2024 and brings more than 20 years of industry experience across the Bermuda and London markets. His background includes leading underwriting teams and developing risk and retrocessional portfolios.

Prior to joining Conduit, Pritchard was managing director at Aon Bermuda, where he served as an account executive for Bermuda-based reinsurers. His earlier roles include overseeing the property catastrophe portfolio at Vantage Risk, and serving as part of the new management team at Lloyd’s Syndicate 2468, Neon, beginning in 2017.

Pritchard began his career with roles at Talbot, Validus Re, and AlphaCat. Pritchard is based in Bermuda and is responsible for supporting overall portfolio management from both inward and outward perspectives.

The leadership transition follows additional changes within Conduit’s parent company, CHL. In March, CHL announced that CEO and board director Trevor Carvey will retire, effective April 11, 2025, citing a personal decision to return to the UK.

Until a permanent successor is appointed, executive chairman Neil Eckert has assumed the role of interim CEO.

Conduit operates as a multi-line reinsurance business and is headquartered in Bermuda. The company said that it continues to manage leadership changes while maintaining its underwriting and portfolio management functions.

In 2024, the company reported growth in gross premiums written (GPW) and net reinsurance revenue but experienced a decline in its reinsurance service result and comprehensive income.

Gross premiums written increased by 24.8% to US$1.16 billion, up from US$931.4 million in 2023. Reinsurance revenue rose 28.5% to US$813.7 million, while net reinsurance revenue climbed 29.4% to US$720 million.
