Magnitude 6.8 earthquake strikes, according to reports

In news just in, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake has hit the Northern California area.

Early reports are unclear as to the extent of damage caused, but the earthquake is believed to have been centered 104 miles off the coast of Ferndale, California, according to USGS.

The earthquake is said to have hit the region at 6:50am Pacific Time with Ferndale the nearest city to the tremor.
