Chubb appoints marine and energy reinsurance head
The global reinsurance division of Chubb has appointed 30-year industry veteran Neil Lee-Amies as its new head of marine and energy.

Lee-Amies will be responsible for the performance and future development of the combined marine and energy books of Chubb Tempest Re, effective immediately.

He will be reporting to Steve Roberts, managing director of Chubb Tempest Re’s international division.

Lee-Amies has nearly three decades of experience in marine and energy insurance and reinsurance at international level, including eight years at Chubb where he worked as marine and energy excess of loss underwriter at legacy.

Before joining Chubb, he previously served in senior underwriting positions at several other insurers, most recently Württembergische UK Limited, the London branch of the global major insurance company W&W AG.

Lee-Amies replaces William Neave who is set to retire on December 31 after four decades in London’s insurance industry, including 16 years at ACE.

Roberts said Neave will be with Chubb until the end of the year to help ensure a seamless transition for cedents and brokers.

"All of us at Chubb Tempest Re are grateful for Bill's very considerable contribution to the success of our business over the past 16 years and extend our very best wishes for a well-deserved retirement,” Roberts said.
