Following the announcement of a major buy-out from the Canada Pen
sion Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), Ascot Underwriting has revealed a significant new member of its board.
John Lloyd, former CEO of JLT
Speciality Ltd., has joined the firm as independent non-executive director.
Lloyd was a founding director of Lloyd Thompson Ltd. in 1981 and was appointed chairman of Lloyd Thompson Group Ltd., in 1993. Following its merger with Jardine Insurance Brokers in 1997, Lloyd was a director of JLT
Group until 2005 when he became chairman and CEO of the JLT
Group subsidiary Lloyd & Partners. He then moved to his role as CEO of JLT
Specialty Ltd. in 2014.
