Jamie Smith – who left Arthur J. Gallagher in 2014 to move to Everard Insurance Brokers – is back to serve as marine development executive.

The rehire has more than a decade of industry experience, having worked at the likes of Willis and RSA. He first joined Gallagher in 2011.

“We’re delighted to welcome Jamie back to the Liverpool team,” commented North West regional managing director Stephen Penketh, as quoted by Boating Business. “With his extensive experience and knowledge of the specific risk exposures and challenges faced by businesses in the maritime sector, it’s fair to say he knows the sector inside out.”

Smith, for his part, said: “With an increasingly diversified range of businesses, Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area continue to operate as a world-class centre of maritime excellence and core contributor of the regional economy – one which I look forward to supporting and servicing in my new role.”

Gallagher, one of the world’s largest full-service insurance brokers, has sales and service operations in 33 countries, as well as client-service capabilities in over 150 countries.
