Kevin Rettberg, COO of Encompass Risk Solutions, says program administration is in his company’s DNA. “I started working with specialty programs in 2002,” he explains. “I was asked to manage a large 24-state WC group. Upon working with that group, I knew specialty programs were my calling.”
Focused on serving the transportation industry through risk management and insurance solutions, Rettberg mentions the challenging nature of workers’ compensation in the industry, especially when a driver becomes injured. “We need to work with injured employees, assist them though recovery and rehab, and prepare them to return to work in a timely fashion,” he says.
Encompass is on track to outperform last year’s results; the company’s transportation WC SIG program alone accounts for more than 15% of its business. “Everyone works together for a common goal, and that is to achieve long-term success,” Rettberg says.
