Insurance Business announces Asia's elite women for 2022

Diversity & Inclusion

By Roxanne Libatique

Asian women have been gradually beating gender bias while paving the way for their fellow women in traditionally male-dominated professions, such as technology, finance, and insurance. Now, Insurance Business Asia (IB Asia) is proud to recognise and celebrate the top echelon of women insurance professionals in Asia.

The IB Asia team sought this year’s Elite Women in the Asian insurance industry by inviting insurance professionals across the region to nominate their most exceptional female leaders. Nominees had to be working in a role that related to, interacted with, or in some way influenced the general insurance industry. They must also have demonstrated a clear passion for the sector.

Afterwards, the team asked the nominators to describe their nominee’s standout professional achievements over the past 12 months, along with their contributions to diversity and inclusion in the industry and how they had given back through volunteer roles and charity work. Recommendations from managers and senior industry professionals were also considered.

Finally, the IB Asia team reviewed all nominations, examining how each nominee had made a meaningful contribution to the industry, to narrow down the list to the final 14 Elite Women in insurance.

Among the winners were:

Jeslyn Tan – head of market management (Singapore), Crawford & Company

Veronica Grigg – president (Asia), Crawford & Company

Melissa Wong – group chief product officer, bolttech
