AIA Singapore and Raffles Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve healthcare accessibility for Singapore residents through three key initiatives aimed at expanding specialist coverage and streamlining healthcare delivery.

The partnership adds over 90 Raffles Hospital private specialists to AIA's Quality Healthcare Partners network, expanding to nearly 700 medical specialists – one of the panel networks available to Integrated Shield Plan policyholders.

Aligning with Ministry of Health fee benchmarks, the deal will focus on co-creating healthcare solutions and managing hospitalisation bills.

"As Singapore's population ages and demand for healthcare services increases, our priority remains to ensure that AIA policyholders continue to get prompt access to meet their medical and hospitalisation needs," said AIA Singapore chief marketing and healthcare officer Irma Hadikusuma.

She also said the partnership would provide more options to policyholders while leveraging data analytics to inform how they can design solutions. Likewise, she said that the deal would secure the financial sustainability of their Integrated Shield Plan business and manage long-term healthcare inflation.

Meanwhile, Raffles Medical Group chief operating Officer Dr. Kenneth Wu was delighted about the partnership, hoping that the deal will improve its joint value proposition to meet evolving healthcare needs.

"Our hospital offers the full range of specialist services combined with some of the most advanced medical technology and is also accredited for trauma care by MOH," Wu added.

The initiative builds upon the group's expansion of its policyholder health support coverage, including access to on-demand teleconsultations, mental wellness services, and paediatric care. In November, the company announced that all AIA insured members would receive access to these services alongside home health screenings.

Additionally, the insurer announced expansion of its corporate insurance policies from 2025, including a first-in-market feature of expanded inpatient coverage for mental health care alongside other enhanced benefits.

Announced in October, this will benefit more than 1.3 million employees in Singapore, accounting for more than one in five of Singapore's population.
