AXA has named Claude Seigne as chief executive officer of AXA Thailand. He succeeds Martin Rueegg, who moves to AXA Hong Kong as managing director, general insurance.

Seigne’s appointment is backdated to January 2018.

Before being appointed as Thailand CEO, Seigne was chief general insurance officer at AXA Philippines. He had also served in the insurer’s regional operations as chief technical officer of AXA Asia.

Seigne is a graduate of Ecole Nationale Superieure des Industries Chimiques (ENSIC) in Nancy, France.  According to the company, his extensive knowledge of the industry, gained through several senior roles in France and Asia, make him a valuable addition to the AXA Thailand team.

“With Mr Seigne’s wealth of experience, AXA Thailand commits to develop new insurance products and innovation to serve the needs and demands of customers and to illustrate its vision: Empower people to live,” the insurer said in a statement.
