Chubb has promoted Nikolay Dmitriev, regional managing director for Russia, CIS, and Turkey, by increasing the number of markets under his watch, including regions that are prime targets for growth.

Dmitriev is now regional director for property and casualty for Eurasia and Africa. He will report to Giles Ward, regional president for Chubb Eurasia and Africa, and will still be based in Moscow.

Dmitriev will be tasked with heading Chubb’s property and casualty business in both regions, making sure the company will be able to match the high risk-transfer demands Asia and Africa, both emerging markets for the insurance industry. He will work closely with various country presidents and product managers in the field.

“Property and casualty risk is the bedrock of our business in Eurasia and Africa,” said Ward. “Nikolay, who has successfully managed and grown our Russian business over the past nine years, has the leadership qualities, underwriting expertise and market knowledge necessary to lead the development of our P&C portfolio across the wider region. I look forward to working with him to further develop and deliver strong propositions for our broker partners, cedants and clients.”

Meanwhile, Turkey country president Emre Buğday, who previously reported to Dmitriev, will now report directly to Ward.
