Hejin Online, a Beijing-based big data firm focused on the insurance industry, has announced a new round of funding.

While no financial details have been announced, Bojiang Capital Management and Redpoint Ventures have supplied the funds to the firm in its series B funding round, according to China Money Network.

Founded in 2015 by former president of Alibaba Health Information Technology, Wang Yaqing, the company provides platforms and services for both insurers and customers.

Currently the firm supports online claims platform Lipeibao and has also launched an app called Baodanbao which allows insurance companies to manage policies.

The app is also a big data platform which allows individuals, insurers and medical care companies to access information on policies and medical documentation.

Previously, the firm had been supported by Morningside Ventures and Redpoint Ventures in its series A funding round in 2016.

The news follows that of online insurance platform Xiaoyusan which raised US$14 million last week in its series B funding.
