Several insurance carriers, brokers, and insurance-focused law firms have named new leaders in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
Brokerage Lockton has hired Alberto Ferriolo (pictured) as regional growth leader for Marine & Transportation in Asia, with the move taking effect July 1, 2026, the firm said. Ferriolo will be based in Singapore and will report to Sung Wook Han, who heads the Marine & Transportation unit for the region. His remit covers portfolio and revenue growth across that business line in Asia. Ferriolo arrives from Miller Insurance Services in Singapore. Lockton said he has worked in European and Asian insurance markets for more than nine years, concentrating on marine cargo, commodity trade, and transportation risks. Earlier in his career he handled cargo and commodity trade insurance at Aon in the Netherlands and held roles in the logistics and commodities industries.
Han framed the hire as part of the broker’s regional buildout. “Alberto’s appointment reflects our continued investment in building a stronger, more connected Marine & Transportation platform across Asia. His cargo insurance expertise, international market experience, and first-hand understanding of logistics and commodity trade make him well placed to support complex client needs and help our teams identify and convert growth opportunities across the region. We are pleased to welcome Alberto to Lockton as we continue to strengthen our Marine & Transportation proposition in Asia,” Han said.
Loss-adjusting firm McLarens has appointed Lam Choy Heng, who goes by CH Lam, as managing director of its Malaysian subsidiary, McLarens Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., the company said. Lam takes charge of the firm’s Malaysian operations, including business strategy, client relationships, operational results, and staff development. He first joined the firm in 2023. Mike Campbell-Pitt, the firm’s regional director for Asia, tied the appointment to McLarens’ regional spending. “Malaysia is a key market for McLarens in Asia, and Lam’s appointment reflects our commitment to investing in local leadership and talent. Having worked with Lam for many years, I am delighted with his appointment and look forward to working together as we continue growing the Malaysia business,” he said.
Lam pointed to shifting market conditions. “Malaysia’s insurance market continues to evolve, creating new opportunities and challenges for our clients. Together with our team, I am committed to strengthening our capabilities, investing in our people, and delivering the highest standards of claims service across the market,” he said. Choong Hon Mun, known as HM, will remain at the firm as a business advisor as part of the handover, McLarens said. The company said he has close to five decades of experience in loss adjusting and claims management and will keep working on client and market relationships while advising the leadership team. “I am proud of the exceptional team we have built in Malaysia. Lam is a strong leader with a deep commitment to our people and clients, and I look forward to supporting him and the team as they continue to build on this success and pursue the opportunities ahead,” Choong said.
Law firm DAC Beachcroft has named partner Andrew Robinson as location head of its Singapore office, a three-year appointment that began June 1, 2026, the firm said. Robinson replaces partner Summer Montague and will run the office as it serves clients in Singapore and across Asia-Pacific. Robinson’s practice covers insurance and reinsurance, including international financial lines and professional indemnity disputes, ESG matters, regulatory and compliance work, and casualty losses, alongside a focus on cyber risk and data security.
