Lockton has appointed Lesley Jamieson (pictured) as regional senior vice president, operations, Asia.

In this Hong Kong-based role, she will focus on strengthening operational processes and efficiencies while reporting to Philip Corrigan, regional chief operating officer, Asia.

Lesley Jamieson’s career

Jamieson brings close to three decades of experience in the insurance sector, having held leadership positions at Howden Group and Allianz Worldwide Partners, among other firms.

Lockton stated that her background will support the firm’s operational objectives across its regional business.

Lockton establishes Offshore Projects practice

The leadership appointment follows the launch of Lockton’s new Offshore Projects practice, designed to provide risk transfer solutions for offshore ventures.

Announced in 2024, the practice is led by Jack Swift, David Vajnai, and Alex Morgan, in collaboration with other Lockton specialists, including upstream energy leader Matthew Preston, construction leader Robert Wilson, and renewable energy leader Michael Bogdan.

Lockton stated that this practice was developed to serve clients involved in offshore projects that do not fall neatly into existing insurance categories within energy, marine, or power sectors.

Coverage areas include interconnectors, subsea cables, floating production storage and offloading units (FPSOs), floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facilities, floating storage regasification units (FSRUs), specialist platforms, pipelines, and offshore renewable energy installations. These operations often face marine exposure risks and operational challenges in high-risk environments.

According to Lockton, offshore projects have encountered difficulties securing both insurance coverage and financial backing due to the claims frequency associated with offshore wind and interconnector projects. The firm also noted that shifting regulatory and underwriting expectations related to energy transition efforts have further complicated risk placement.

Jack Swift, head of offshore projects at Lockton, said the new practice integrates multiple insurance disciplines to create tailored solutions for clients operating in this space.

EJ Hentenaar, CEO of Lockton Europe, stated that the practice is designed to offer risk management strategies beyond traditional coverage models.

“This isn’t just about insurance – it’s about partnering with our clients to navigate risks that don’t fit neatly into one category of insurers’ internal underwriting guidelines. That partnership is the difference to how we operate with clients, providing tailored risk management strategies that go beyond mere transactions and making sure that they have the protection they need to succeed,” he said.
