Marsh appoints Adamantiadis as CEO for Middle East, Africa

International brokerage and risk management firm Marsh has appointed Christos Adamantiadis as CEO of a newly-combined Middle East and Africa region.

Adamantiadis’ appointment will take effect on May 01. He will be based in Dubai and will report to Flavio Piccolomini, president of Marsh International.

In the new role, he will assume responsibility for all of Marsh’s operations in the Middle East and Africa regions, working to expand the company’s reach in these markets. He brings 25 years of management experience, most recently as chief executive of Oman Insurance Company, a leading composite insurer.

He spent 20 years at AIG, overseeing its operations in several global regions including the Middle East, North Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, and Russia.

“By uniting our businesses in the Middle East and across Africa, we will be able to better leverage the talents and expertise of Marsh colleagues for the benefit of clients,” Piccolomini commented on the appointment.

“With a strong track record of serving firms across a range of developing geographies, Christos is well-placed to deliver the services and solutions clients need to meet the challenges of the fast-changing risk landscape across the region.”

Additionally, Marsh has appointed of Ayman El Hout as country leader for the UAE, effective June 01. Also based in Dubai, he will report to Adamantiadis. El Hout has over 34 years of experience in underwriting and reinsurance in the Middle East, most recently as deputy CEO of Al Sagr National Insurance.
