Sompo Guide Tokyo, a 208-page travel guidebook to Japan aimed at tourists from the US and Europe, will be available starting June 01.

Produced by Shueisha Co., the guidebook is sponsored by Sompo Holdings Group, which offers property and casualty insurance, life insurance, and other financial services both in Japan and abroad. According to Sompo, its book aims to provide both first-time and repeat visitors a safe and enriching journey by providing in-depth knowledge about Japan.

Aside from introducing most of Tokyo’s main tourist spots such as Shinjuku, Ginza, Akihabara, and Shibuya, the guidebook will introduce popular restaurants and their various amenities, such as English-language service, Wi-Fi availability, and credit card acceptance.

The guidebook will introduce not only traditional Japanese culture such as temples and shrines, but it will also tackle popular culture spots such as those embraced by the anime and kawaii subcultures, and contains recommendations from famous artists.

It also aims to educate readers about basic Japanese etiquette and customs to help their journeys be more safe and secure.
