Generali Thailand has reported a 12% reduction in application development and maintenance (ADM) costs, attributed to the incorporation of CAST Imaging and its Structural Risk Extension, commonly referred to as dashboards, in the development of key customer-oriented applications, including their Customer Engagement Platform.

The use of CAST's software intelligence technology in these vital applications, some of which comprise millions of lines of code developed both internally and by external ADM partners, has facilitated more efficient and reliable software release cycles for Generali Thailand. Additionally, it has enhanced team collaboration by providing automatic insights into the status and intricacies of their bespoke applications.

With Generali Thailand's rapid customer base expansion and the delivery of comprehensive insurance solutions in Thailand, the evolution of core applications has become a crucial focus. The collaboration with a wide range of ADM partners necessitates a high standard of efficiency, resilience, and security in the software they develop. Sharing technical knowledge about these applications, especially in a fast-paced environment, has been a growing challenge.

Last year, chief information officer Hyun Sook Ji recognised the need to expedite the transformation process and improve IT systems. She identified that software intelligence capable of automatically analysing complex custom-built software systems, offering detailed insights akin to MRI scans, was essential.

"CAST came out as a far better solution [than other options]. Since we started leveraging CAST and massively simplified our review process, we’ve gained total peace of mind around all software delivered by our ADM partners. We’re looking forward to phasing the technology into more of our application work in the coming years,” she said.

The strategic adoption of CAST's software intelligence has not only enhanced Generali Thailand's understanding of software conditions but has also fostered more effective collaborations with ADM partners. It has enabled early detection and resolution of potential issues, thereby enhancing the end-user experience.

This approach has also led to significant cost savings, including a 25% decrease in rework and coding efforts and a 20% reduction in knowledge transition times, contributing positively to the company’s operations.
