SiriusPoint has named Chris Fenn (pictured above) as global head of marine, alongside two additional appointments aimed at expanding the company’s marine insurance capabilities.
Fenn, who previously served as head of marine, London for SiriusPoint International, joined the company in February 2024. He brings more than a decade of experience to the role, having led marine teams during a 14-year tenure at Markel.
In his new position, Fenn will oversee SiriusPoint’s global marine portfolio, with a focus on developing offerings in cargo, fine art and specie, ports and terminal, and marine liability.
The company also announced that Anthony Grew will join as head of cargo on July 21, and Giulia Argano will begin in May as marine claims adjuster within SiriusPoint’s global claims team. Both will be based in London. Grew will report to Fenn, while Argano will report to Hamish McBride, head of MGA and program claims.
Grew joins from Allied World, where he was vice president of the marine division. His career spans over 20 years, with previous roles at CNA Hardy, ACE Group, FP Marine Risks, OMV, and Glencore.
Argano brings more than 12 years of experience in the marine sector. Most recently, she served as manager and controller at Capanna Marine Lloyd’s Agencies. She has also held positions at Tagliavia & Capanna S.r.l. and Sea International Services S.r.l.
SiriusPoint noted that these appointments reflect its intention to grow its marine business across global platforms. The company’s marine capabilities are supported by its operations in London and international markets, as well as through Lloyd’s Syndicate 1945 and its portfolio of specialist managing general agent (MGA) partnerships.
SiriusPoint’s last major marine expansion was in July 2024, when it entered a strategic partnership with Hellenic Hull Management (HMA), a marine hull and machinery underwriter based in Greece and Cyprus.
This collaboration allows HMA to underwrite a targeted portfolio of high-quality hull and machinery risks, with SiriusPoint providing the necessary capacity. HMA, recognized for its commitment to sustainable insurance practices, was the first marine managing general agent (MGA) to adopt the United Nations Principles for Sustainable Insurance.
