Ascot Underwriting Ltd. has secured a major coup by swooping for one of the more well-known names in the industry.
The company has appointed Ray Antes as its executive underwriter with the responsibility of overseeing the firm’s political risk team. Antes, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, makes the switch from
AIG where he was senior vice president for
AIG Europe Ltd.

“I am delighted to welcome Ray to Ascot,” said Andrew Brooks, CEO of Ascot Underwriting. “With his pre-eminent position in the market he will enhance what is already a first class team, building on the strength of our current business and expanding our offering to clients.”
At AIG, Antes was responsible as chief underwriter for the political risk division and global profit centre manager.
He will officially make the switch on June 01.
