Global industry player Chubb has hired a new deputy aviation underwriter for its London-based wholesale insurance division.

Seasoned insurance executive Richard Bayman takes up the post at Chubb Global Markets to strengthen the unit’s aviation team.

In his new role, Bayman will contribute to the management and the development of future strategy for the department. He will also underwrite all classes of aviation risks.

Bayman will report to John Wadhams, chief underwriting officer for aviation at Chubb Global Markets.

“Richard’s great underwriting experience and market knowledge will be instrumental in further expanding the capabilities of our aviation division, where Chubb is a global leader,” Wadhams said.

With 23 years in the industry, Bayman re-joins the Chubb team after spending six years heading up Argo, a Lloyd’s aviation syndicate.

Bayman started in the aviation market in 1999 and has been a Lloyd’s aviation underwriter since then.
