Hong Kong-based Ping An Global Voyager Fund has appointed Donald Lacey Jr as managing director and chief operating officer and Dr Marco Huesch as managing director and chief medical officer.

The two executives will join the team led by Jonathan Larsen, the Fund’s CEO and Ping An Group’s chief innovation officer, and work to identify global financial technology (fintech) and health technology (healthtech) opportunities to accelerate Ping An’s international growth.

Lacey joins Ping An from Citigroup’s corporate and investment banking division, where he held a variety of senior positions across Asia Pacific. He played a leading role in a number of landmark M&A transactions involving insurers, technology firms, and alternative distribution channels for financial services.

Meanwhile, Huesch brings almost two decades of experience in the healthcare profession. He joins Ping An from Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where he was vice chair of research and an associate professor.

“I am excited to welcome Don and Marco to the leadership team as the Group continues to build its presence in fintech and healthtech sectors,” Larsen commented on the appointments. “With their backgrounds in the financial and healthcare industries, they are excellent additions to help accelerate our access to global innovations in these areas.”

Ping An Insurance Group launched the Global Voyager Fund in 2017 with an initial capital of US$1 billion in committed capital.
