Suncorp’s AAMI has made a generous donation to Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) to assist VICSES volunteers in supporting their local community and providing on-the-ground support during emergencies.

The AAMI donation will be used to buy more than 2,000 pieces of essential emergency-response equipment across the state. As VICSES’ principal community partner, the insurer has contributed a total of $8.5 million through the AAMI Handover Program since the two organisations partnered up in 2002.

“We have over 2,000 pieces of equipment to hand over to volunteers across the state including chainsaws, hand power tools, portable lights, and helmets to help volunteers carry out rescue operations, particularly in dangerous conditions,” said Paul Sofronoff, AAMI head of motor and property claims. “I hope our contribution to the new equipment will help make our communities safer.”

“The support of AAMI and this program in assisting our volunteers is outstanding,” said Kate White, VICSES director of community resilience and communication. “VICSES volunteers are trusted by their communities to help in times of need. Thanks to AAMI, our volunteers are armed with the best equipment to support the community.”

AAMI also supports VICSES’ community awareness campaigns, such as 15 to float, which raises awareness of the dangers when driving through floodwater.
