Nominations are now open for the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) Rising Star Award, which recognises emerging talent in financial advice.

The OnePath-backed award is open to financial advisers with four years' experience or less, with provision of quality advice, a commitment to education, and contribution to the industry and the community as the defining qualities of award nominees. Nominations close on June 07.

“There are so many dedicated new advisers and this award provides a platform to foster their talent,” said Natalie Jarvis, award judge and head of strategic accounts and sales strategy at OnePath. “If you know an adviser that meets the criteria and whose professionalism and ideas you admire, please take the time to nominate them. Or, if you are an ambitious adviser looking to kick start yourself as a future leader in the advice industry then this is a great opportunity to nominate yourself.”

Finalists will attend a full-day workshop on Sept. 20 in Sydney, where they will be given the opportunity to develop a personal plan covering business, financial, and personal objectives. They will also receive a personalised profile to help identify the key drivers and values for their career as well as continued consultations from the director of coaching at AFA to help them implement their plan.

The winner will be announced at the AFA Conference and can select from prizes: quarterly, personalized coaching from an experienced business coach and qualified financial adviser or a two-day business planning workshop for up to three team members to build on a business vision and create long-terms strategic and operational plans.
