Agricultural underwriting agency Ag Guard has entered an agency and claims services agreement with Great Lakes Australia, a branch office of Great Lakes Insurance, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of global giant Munich Re.

Alex Cohn, AG Guard, founder and managing director, is excited about the new partnership, and bringing another very credible option to the rural insurance market.

Ag Guard management team also includes co-directors Ben Ko, actuary, and Martin Birch, who brings significant broking and underwriting experience in the Australian agricultural market and was head of the Allianz farm portfolio for Australia.

Ag Guard will soon launch its first product, a fire and hail broadacre insurance offering, on the EBIX platform Sunrise.
