Agency council re-shuffles board

Two directors have been elected to an industry council while two others have been re-elected at the AGM held in Sydney.

The Underwriters Agency Council has announced two new directors have joined the board whle two others have been re-elected.

Chairman Heath Amber, from Millennium, and treasurer Linda King, from Sterling, where re-elected as Jo Lindsay-Eschbank, from SUA, and Steve Boucher of Sportscover, stood down.

Boucher’s collegeue, David Lamb, was elected to the board of directors alongside Emily Walker of Axis to the vacant positions at the AGM held at Sydney’s Four Seasons.

Lamb is CEO of Sportscover and Walker is the manager of the New South Wales office of Axis.

In other appointments, Peter Fryer was elected company secretary while Lyndon Turner will remain as deputy-chariman to Amber.

Amber thanked both Boucher and Lindsay-Eschbank for their service to UAC and their contributions to the board and singled out general manager William Legge for his dedication to the council and its members.

“Our strength lies in unity – together we can achieve important milestones for the agency sector,” Amber told the AGM as UAC continues to grow in Australia and New Zealand.

During the AGM, the council took time to praise what has been a big year with successful expos in Sydney, Melboure, Brisbane and Adelaide, a record number of professional development activities across the country and their successful Emerging Leaders event last February.
