Allianz Australiahas expanded its team of ambassadors for the Olympic and Paralympic Games by welcoming Mollie O'Callaghan, a young and accomplished swimmer, to its fold.

This announcement arrives as the global sporting community's attention increasingly turns towards the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, now just under 100 days away.

At just 19, O'Callaghan has already left an indelible mark on international swimming, becoming the first woman to secure gold in both the 100m and 200m freestyle at the World Championships held in Fukuoka. Her accolades also include securing additional gold medals and setting a new world record in the 200m freestyle, along with two Olympic golds in relay events from the Tokyo Olympics, heralding her entry into the Olympic realm.

What to expect from the new Allianz ambassador

O'Callaghan, celebrated for her extraordinary achievements in swimming, will stand alongside other distinguished athletes such as Cate Campbell, Madison de Rozario, Nic Beveridge, and The Steelers, all of whom are part of Allianz's extensive ambassadorship initiative. This initiative aligns with Allianz's role as the Worldwide Insurance Partner for the Paris 2024 events.

O'Callaghan cited the importance of being part of a supportive network that includes some of Australia's most elite athletes.

“Preparing for the Olympic Games is no easy feat – a lot of hard work and dedication goes into it. I'm fortunate to have a great support network around me, and being a part of the Allianz ambassador team means I can learn and get ready with some of our nation's best athletes,” she said. “I'm proud to stand beside a group of amazing role models and hope that, as an Allianz ambassador, I can hopefully inspire more young athletes to make their own mark and set goals of their own.”

“All of us at Allianz are thrilled to have Mollie join the Allianz family as she takes on the next chapter of her career,” said Shez Ford, chief general manager, consumer, at Allianz. “We're committed to supporting her dreams to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. We're looking forward to Paris 2024, and we know all of Australia will be with us as we cheer on our athletes.”

The collaboration with O'Callaghan is part of Allianz's broader strategy of engaging over 110 athlete ambassadors globally. Through its ambassador program, Allianz aims not only to assist athletes in reaching their peak performance but also to inspire the next generation of Olympians and Paralympians.
