Allied World has announced the appointment of a new assistant vice president for its property business in Australia.

Jodi Garratt (pictured) will join the international firm and will report to Carolyn Shreeve, vice president and head of property Asia Pacific.

Garratt has 17 years’ experience in the industry, with previous roles in both Australia and the UK.

Most recently, Garratt was a senior underwriter in CGU’s property business, having also worked as a broker for both Price Forbes & Partners and Horsell International.

Shreeve said that the addition of Garratt will help the growing firm build relationships with brokers and bring the firm closer to the market.

“In her new role, Jodi will focus on delivering property solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Australian market, complementing our existing local product lines,” Shreeve said.

Garratt is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a senior associate of ANZIIF.
