Aon Benfield, a division of Aon plc, has promoted its head of strategy Andy Marcell to president. The New York based executive will report to Aon Benfield CEO Eric Andersen.

In addition to his new executive responsibilities, his position as president will see Marcell play a wider and more active role in managing the global business and in supporting the firm’s ongoing growth strategies.

He joined Aon Benfield in August 2015 and for two years was responsible for growing the business and attracting new clients to the firm. Prior to that, he was with reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter’s as CEO of US operations and head of global facultative business.
