Suncorp has announced the appointment of a new managing director for its authorised representative business, Resilium.

Adrian Kitchin will take on the role of managing director of the insurance network following his role as managing director of Insurance Advisernet Australia and New Zealand.

Anthony Day, CEO Suncorp Commercial insurance and Chairman of the Resilium board, said that the appointment of Kitchin brings a vast amount of experience on board which will help develop the business.

“Adrian brings to Resilium an extensive background and relationships with the all-important authorised representatives segment of the industry,” Day said.

Kitchin has over 20 years experience within the insurance industry having taken over as MD of Insurance Advisernet in 2012 and Day believes he will be able to drive Resilium forward.

“He was the outstanding candidate for this role, thanks to his extensive experience across a range of roles – managing director, legal counsel, and a variety of operational leadership responsibilities – with a series of corporate and mid-range insurance brokers and underwriters.

“Resilium is dedicated to supporting its adviser network by providing superior service and support. It has the strength of a national network of more than 700 authorised representatives and the backing of the Suncorp Group,” Day continued.

Kitchin’s replaces Simon Ascroft who has been acting managing director since the company announced a string of executive changes in February with former MD, Gerard McDermott becoming EGM of Suncorp’s Personal Insurance Distribution area.
