An Australian insurance industry veteran has been appointed as chief executive officer for New Zealand’s largest insurance broking partner group, NZBrokers.

Jo Mason will take the leap across the ditch and will replace Jim Harris at the AUB Group owned business on 1 July.

Mason brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked in leadership positions for Allianz Australia, IAG and NZI throughout her career.

Managing director of AUB Group NZ, Keith McIvor, said that the business is pleased to bring someone in with the experience of Mason and thanks Harris for his service to the company.

"Jim and I are pleased to have secured someone of Jo’s calibre, experience and leadership ability for the CEO position,” McIvor said.

"Her expertise, developed over an impressive career in insurance, will be an invaluable asset to NZbrokers as we embark on an exciting period of growth and focus on delivering value for our partners.

"Jim Harris has led NZbrokers through a period of genuine transformational change.  I and the Board would like to thank Jim for his outstanding contribution to date. We are excited that we have the skills of both Jim and Jo to lead us going forward.”

Harris said that Mason’s standing in the market will see the business placed in the perfect hands.

“Jo has exceptional credibility in the market and has been a supporter of insurance broking groups,” Harris said.

“Her leadership, knowledge and capability is a strong fit for our high performing group and our ongoing growth ambitions.”
