AXA XL, the property and casualty and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA, has appointed a new global head of portfolio solutions.

Charlotte Wilson will take up her new global role on May 01, based in London, to take charge of developing and executing AXA XL’s global strategy for portfolio solutions, as part of Philippe Gouraud’s global strategic distribution team.

Wilson brings 17 years of insurance experience to her new role, most recently as underwriting manager at AXA XL. She started her insurance career as a graduate trainee with Sedgwick Insurance Brokers (now Marsh), where she later become a terrorism and political risk insurance broker. She also was an underwriting assistant in the fine art and specie team at Catlin Underwriting Agencies.

Wilson’s “wealth of experience in underwriting and structuring portfolio solution transactions will enable us to partner with our brokers in streamlining the placement of homogenous risks through a whole range of portfolio underwriting approaches,” Gouraud said. “Whether through binders, line slips, or contestable panels, AXA XL will be better positioned than ever to respond across our wide range of product offerings and global footprint.”
