Berkley Insurance Australia (BIA) is set to partner with SolarBuddy, an organisation dedicated to alleviating global energy poverty.

Starting this year, for every policy issued on its broker platform, bindIT, BIA will contribute financially to SolarBuddy.

What to expect from the BIA-SolarBuddy partnership

The collaboration underpins a mutual goal: to distribute solar lights to children in underprivileged areas, enhancing their access to education, improving health outcomes, and fostering economic growth.

Commenting on the partnership, BIA chief executive Tony Wheatley praised the effects of SolarBuddy's endeavours on communities grappling with lack of energy access.

“Aligning with SolarBuddy is a reflection of our core values,” he said. “We are inspired by their commitment and the significant impact of their work, especially for communities affected in the cycle of energy poverty.”

Aside from engaging in collaborations, BIA rebranded its facilities department to enhance partnerships with coverholders.
