Arthur J Gallagher Australia CEO Andrew Godden has welcomed former QBE man Terry Ibbotson to the brokerage.

Ibbotson, the former CEO of QBE Australia, has been appointed to the newly-created role of group commercial director. Working with the executive team, he will build a strategy for future growth in Australia.

“Terry will be an extremely positive addition to our team and his experience, success and reputation makes him an ideal person to assist us achieve our objectives in the region,” Godden told Insurance Business.

Ibbotson has more than 20 years’ experience in insurance. As well as stepping into the role of CEO of QBE Australia, he was also the global head of distribution. He retired from QBE in 2011.
