Chubb has promoted Matthew O’Brien (pictured) to casualty manager for Australia and New Zealand. O’Brien will be based in Melbourne.

In this role, O’Brien will be responsible for managing Chubb’s casualty portfolio in the aforementioned markets.

O’Brien, who joined Chubb in 2011, has held several underwriting and management positions, most recently as casualty segment leader in the major accounts division, where he oversaw significant portfolio growth and improvements, the company said.

Prior to Chubb, O’Brien worked at Marsh, where he held a series of marketing roles. Earlier in his career, he was an account broker at Aon.

“Matt’s vast industry experience, sound understanding of market dynamics and deep knowledge of liability products positions him well for success in this key role for Chubb,” the insurer said.
