Adrian Habils, currently the deputy property manager for Chubb in Australia and New Zealand, has taken on the role of Chubb head of property in Asia.

Habils has over 20 years of experience in the property insurance sector, starting his career at Chubb's predecessor company as a property underwriting manager in Adelaide in 2008. Over the years, he has held various property underwriting and management roles across Australia.

New role

Habils will be responsible for the financial performance of Chubb's Asia property portfolio, the insurer said in a news release.

Habils will be based at Chubb's Singapore regional office from 1 October 2023, and report to Paul McNamee, regional president of Chubb Asia Pacific.

McNamee said: “Adrian is an experienced leader with deep property insurance expertise. He is passionate about our business and has been instrumental in shaping the property portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.

“As an organisation, we remain focused on promoting from within and we look forward to Adrian moving into his new role where he will continue to drive our property business forward in Asia.”

Last month, Chubb appointed Michael O'Donnell – the division president of Chubb Tempest Re USA – as chief operating officer (COO) of global reinsurance.
