Gallagher Bassett and Allianz Australia have been appointed as third-party claims-services providers for non-corporate Commonwealth entities covered under the federal government Comcare scheme.

The new claims options were introduced by Comcare to provide federal agencies the option to play a greater role in managing their workers’ compensation claims. It follows trials over the last two years of similar models in the Department of Human Services and the Australian Taxation Office.

“GB is honoured to be named a service provider for the Comcare scheme and looks forward to a close collaboration with Comcare and public sector agencies to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the scheme,” said John McNamara, GB Australia CEO.

Comcare is communicating directly with eligible agencies to determine whether a change in claims-services options is right for them.
